There’s something about the Atlantic ocean that resonates deep within me. I was born and brought up a couple blocks away from Plymouth Harbor, in Massachusetts, and I remember lots of wonderful times on the beaches, and ocean there.
Nature’s Power
Nature’s Power is an original piece done from memory about standing close enough to the ocean to get a face full of cold salt water. There’s just something vital and powerful when the wind and the ocean get together.
When a true nor’easter the ocean in the sky almost become one, and if the wind is blowing hard enough, the spray disappears into the clouds and creates an almost or tornado effect. In this painting which is a 12 x 16 oil on panel that effect is just starting to present itself. That’s done with thick impasto oils, and I hope there’s a shock of recognition for anyone who has witnessed this Beautiful natural occurrence in person.
