Description
I remember spending a good amount of time with my dad in a small 16 foot boat, going fishing in and out of Plymouth Harbor. There would be times when it would be beautiful, and in 15 minutes A squall of wind and rain would whip up the ocean in a heartbeat, and we would take quite a pounding and such a small craft.
This painting is an exaggerated memory of those days. The ocean’s power and beauty was the kind of thing that stays with you for a lifetime. I tried to capture that feeling in this painting and though I am based in Mississippi, there’s a large part of my heart that stays on the Atlantic coast. This is a 16 x 20 Oil on panel title “Surprise Storm.”
