Do you love your pet cat or dog? Of course, you do right! To many of us, including myself, our animals are literally a part of the family. They’re an extension of ourselves and some of us animal lovers know what it’s like to cherish a pet. Well, I came across this story that I thought was worth sharing with you. Jackie Bugera is the owner of an art gallery in Edmonton. Back in 2007, she received a gift from a local artist named Aaron Paquette. You’ll be shocked when you find out exactly what he did and the snowball effect that it had…
Bulldog Art Gift Starts Trend In Edmonton
Jackie Bugera absolutely loved her bulldog, Zsu Zsi. According to a recent Canadian news article, she loved the dog so much that a local artist presented her with a painting of Zsu Zsi. The painting of the late bulldog incorporated a 24-karat gold leaf halo which was worked into the piece.
When she received this from Aaron Paquette (check out his work here), Jackie was speechless. Emotions of all sorts were zipping around in her head. She didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or scream. Needless to say, she was absolutely touched by this.
Jackie was the type of person that lived with her animal by her side. Zsu Zsi was a part of her and life without the bulldog must be tough, but apparently, she wasn’t going to stop with just that single painting of Zsu Zsi.
Jackie Bugera has since expanded her collection of Zsu Zsi paintings and artwork to over 60 works of art. It’s a personal collection that she has on display in her home called, “The Hall of Zsu Zsi.”
She’s recently added a painting to the collection that was done by the artist, Michael Abraham.
I enjoy painting pet portraits just as much as people enjoy seeing the final products. It’s a fantastic way to pay tribute to a family pet. Jackie went above and beyond what most do but I certainly respect the uniqueness and dedication that she has to her beloved bulldog. I’m sure Zsu Zsi appreciates it.
Bulldog art is trending today and it’s something I’ve had personal experience doing. Here’s a piece that I created of a bulldog not too long ago. I don’t just paint bulldogs, though. I’ve painted horses, cats, roosters, yellow labs, and many other types of family pets. Feel free to reach out to me for more info on getting one done of your beloved animal.
As some of you might know, I love animals so much that I spend most of my day with Mr.Kitty and Baby Kitty. They watch over the gallery when I’m away too, lol. I’ve had many pets that I’ve painted and I cherish each of the pieces of them just as much as any other collector. Now, you don’t have to accumulate 60+ pieces to show your love and affection for your animal, I just thought that this was an interesting story to share. It goes above and beyond the typical collector.
